Preview Screening - Beaufort, SC
December 2010
The Joe Frazier film will be previewed this weekend at the legendary boxer’s home town of Beaufort.
'Joe Frazier: When the Smoke Clears' has only just come out of post-production and is not set for a full release until next year, but the preview has been organised to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the South Carolina town.
"This is our last event for the Beaufort Three-Century Project, and the film is amazing. It is a wonderful human interest story, local history story, and international sports story,” said Deborah Johnson, the organiser of Beaufort’s Three Century Project.
It was shot on location in Beaufort, Philadelphia, New York, and London and features interviews with boxing legends as well as Frazier’s family and friends.
“Hopefully our film shows Joe the human being, his relationship with his son Marvis and his motivation for keeping his gym going, pretty much at his own expense, for the last forty years. It’s taken us nearly three years to finish it but the documentary we’ve ended up with is hopefully something pretty unique,” said director, Mike Todd.
